Letraset (Ashford Kent)

"We found Random Developments to be a very professional and courteous company to work with. Over the past year we had a number of technical issues that required help which we could not address in house, and with a business system heavily based around SQL, we needed a fast response which they were able to provide. We would definitely recommend them to any other businesses"

VisitScunthorpe.Com - Community News Blog Project

For many years now we've worked in partnership with Shoodabean another developer on a wide range of IT related projects. We got together over a technical project we were putting together for the Law Society and several large firms of Solicitors, and have continued to work together on and off ever since. About 18 Months ago we came up with this idea of producing a local media web site for where we both lived at the time. We'd messed around with wordpress, phpnuke forums and the like, but nothing really matched up to what we wanted to achieve. We were hoping to not only produce unique editorial content but to also encourage members of the local community to post their own ideas and views on the site. Together we set out to produce something more specific to our blogging needs and designed features and facilities which reflected this, including:

Simple sign up and membership - User name, real name, location and email address are all that's required Article Creation and Editing, including categorisation by area Commenting on Other's Articles Photo Gallery Councillor Database Councillor Search facility Integrated Google search Archives Articles by Members

We have also added to the system the ability to provide a remote live broadcast from any event, meeting or "occasion" going on in the local community, this was first used to broadcast the North Lincolnshire Council Budget Meeting and proved to be a great success.

These facilities form the basis what we call the "Scunthorpe Engine" why not take a test drive on VisitScunthorpe.Com.
